The white seven-seat luxury MPV Toyota Alphard used by Abby Choi’s ex-husband on the day of the murder was driven by his elder brother, who worked as Choi’s personal driver.

While the vehicle meets Uganda’s rule that passenger cars must be no older than 15 years from manufacture, it is treated as case evidence seized in Hong Kong. It cannot legally be traded or exported until the trial concludes, the court disposes of the asset and the seizure is lifted.
Even after the vehicle is released from evidentiary detention and export approval is obtained, it will be stigmatized due to the globally publicized gruesome murder. Estimated retail price for local end buyers in Uganda stands at 95,000,000–100,000,000 UGX, equivalent to USD 24,000–26,000, or approximately CNY 189,000.
